When it comes to the TV medium, things are only getting more aggressive in the streaming market over time. With that competition comes an admittedly volatile market when it comes to renewals and cancellations, but Netflix has impressively remained dedicated to its animated catalog. Japanese anime, in particular, has surged in global pop culture, with Netflix being among the streamers securing licenses to IPs as well as developing its own originals. This is further evidence of the genre also being much more accessible to the everyday consumer than ever before, with every mainstream streaming service working to complement its primary selection of programming.
With the days of hard-to-reach anime series and movies that relied on fan subs gone, both longtime fans of the genre and those looking to dip their toes into it have plenty of quality content at their fingertips. Other streamers like Crunchyroll and Funimation are certainly the best anime-focused sources, but Netflix still offers a respectable backlog. There are plenty of unique movies and TV shows available, assuring that there will be something for every fan.
As mercifully user-friendly anime has become in more recent years, the sheer depth of content available can still be on the overwhelming side. That’s why, for anyone in need of options, it’s worth taking a look through our other anime guides on the best anime on Hulu, on top of the best anime available on Amazon Prime Video.

Berserk1997
Writer Nakaba Suzuki’s The Seven Deadly Sins has been one of the more popular shounen manga, especially with the anime adaptation that began in 2014 with animation studio A-1 Pictures. The original series followed Meliodas and company as they band to find their former companions from the Seven Deadly Sins to clear their name and defeat the Holy Knights that have ironically plunged the land into tyranny.
And now, with that series concluded, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 will serve as a cinematic prequel to the sequel series Four Knights of the Apocalypse, which ushers in a new generation of heroes. This time, the story follows Tristan, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, a young boy will travel to the titular Edinburgh Castle. The first movie premieres on December 20.
